DIGICEL LAUNCHES SAMOA’S FIRST EVER TREASURE HUNT.
August 3rd 2010 - Digicel introduces an exciting new game with great Cash Prizes!August 3rd, 2010, Apia: Treasure Hunt, a new innovative game designed for mobile phones, was launched yesterday much to the delight of many Digicel customers.
“The concept was taken from the classic, Samoan adopted, Treasure Island book by Robert Louis Stevenson” said Pepe Christian Fruean, Digicel CEO. “We wanted to create a game filled with the excitement and suspense of hunting for hidden treasure. In turn, lucky customers are rewarded with cash and top up vouchers, not only at the end of the hunt but during the three weeks leading up to the final date. We wanted to create a reward scheme that will benefit more people.” he continued.
The Digicel Treasure Hunt commenced yesterday, Tuesday 3 August and will end midnight Saturday 21 August.
To play, customers text “HUNT” to 4868. You will receive a text telling you how what type treasure you’ve found, how heavy it is, the total weight of your treasure and where you’re ranked amongst the rest of the Treasure Hunters. The more you text, the better your chance of acquiring loads of treasure. The winner will be the person who has the heaviest treasure at the end of the Treasure Hunt. Your Treasure Hunt will take you to many different locations around Samoa. But be wary of Jack Sparrow, he will steal the treasure you acquired in the past 24 hours.
To introduce the Treasure Hunt, Digicel are giving away $10,000 worth of cash prizes – the largest ever prize pool for a Digicel game – including random $100 cash bonuses to be won during the three week Treasure Hunt. There is also $5,000 worth of Top Up vouchers that will be awarded randomly to lucky unsuspecting customers.
Pepe commented on the reason behind creating the Digicel Treasure Hunt saying; “We are always looking to keep the enthusiasm alive in being a part of Digicel and take pleasure in rewarding our customers through such means as the Treasure Hunt game. Best wishes to all the participants and may the best Treasure Hunter win.”
